can i fit a 180 on the stock rim w/ no rubbing or no?
it's got the 160 on there stock. i'd like to go w/ a 180/55/17

no you cant.. you needa F3 rim then you can go 180..

 

ok.. how about a 170? can i go one size wider or do i have to stick w/ a 160

You might get a 170 on there...but by the time you make the tire pofile fit the rim...you are essentially using a 160...all over again.

Maybe less.

Stick to the 160's...they are plenty fat...especially for a 600.

You know I had a tire so bald you could see the tread all the way around it. And the tread was the thick spots Anyways, I was way way low on funds and found a guy that had a tire sitting around the shop he said he would mount and balance for 40. after i got there and he put it on we figured out that it was a 180/60-17. So he gave it to me for 20 and i have been on it for a week or so now. I read up on here about the "dont turn sharp" stuff [8D], and it is really doing ok i guess. dont get me wrong next payday im going 170, but hey when ur poow ur poow right. Actually since i took the tire guard off it fills in the rear nicelly. my 160 made the a$$ end look narrow

 

Not everythng has to look like Orange County Chopper..and you have a slightly older bike...with an inch thinner rear tire...

No big deal man...

Performance first...then make it pretty...
