BIG PROBLEM!

Ok i just got done instaling a stage 1 jet kit on my 94.well i go to adjust my air fuel screws with the provided tool and my #1 cylinder screw is striped. its looks like its about 1 or 2 turns too lean is it safe to ride it like that or iam i gonna screw something up or lose whatever performance gain i got from the kit.

RE: BIG PROBLEM!

Sounds like you need a new rack of carbs, unless you are patient.

cowboy from hell 12-31-2007 03:29 PM

RE: BIG PROBLEM!

so its no good to run alittle lean there then?

kjohnson 12-31-2007 04:02 PM

RE: BIG PROBLEM!

No.You want them balanced/synched.

cowboy from hell 12-31-2007 04:11 PM

RE: BIG PROBLEM!

crap.well i guess i could try geting it out with a left hand drill bit then buy a replacement on bikebandit.that would probly be cheaper than buying new carbs i would think.

land_warrior.rus 12-31-2007 05:15 PM

RE: BIG PROBLEM!

If everything else fails try drilling it out with a very small drill bit. Once you make a little hole in the screw try lightly hummering a small screw driver into it. Have done it a few times but not on carbs.
Good luck

alrighty where can i get this air fuel screw? looked at bike bandit couldnt find it but i think they call it something else (technical term) please help me out.

RE: BIG PROBLEM!

kjohnson I believe has an extra set he could zip to you. So give him a holler. Since on the tops of carbs, if my bike has a rough idle (vance & hines full exhaust, k&n filter, unknown if its been jetted), could it be because it has the wrong jets or I just need to get the carbs sync'd? If sync'd is there anyone located in Los Angeles that wants too hook a brother up?

RE: BIG PROBLEM!

alejandro you should type a little slower =P. Because I think you're typing so fast its hard to comprehend what you're trying to say. =P Just my .02 cents.
