Default Bad news, great news on headers

This Saturday night, I put a hole in one of my headers going over a curb. I have a buddy who gave me a set of pristine F2 headers to replace the ones I holed, and after taking mine off, I noticed they were both way different. Long story short, my weigh maybe 4lbs less than the stock ones, and have 5mm (~3/16") bigger collectors tubes than stock. Upon seeing that I welded on a patch and slapped them back on the bike, instead of going back to stock and having a rich running motor.

The best thing is that my bike's already been jetted for these bad boys and runs great with nary a badly lean or rich spot all along the rev range. Not bad for a free bike! It's good to know someone paid a lot of attention to my bike back when it was hot stuff.

And here's a pic of the plate that i bent up and my brother welded on. Of course, he had to put his initials on it.

I've got to paint them again (and better!) but that will happen when I get another running bike.

Those are some scabby welds, and I would have killed him if he put that **** on mine lol.

Speaking of headers, just got mine back:

Eh, the welds aren't that bad (other than his sig). The crappy phone camera makes them look worse. Without a TIG machine and a lot more time, there's not too much else I could have done. I had to ride it that night. Also it was on a bend and where the other pipes come together at the bottom. I guess we could have recessed it and spend 8hr hammering together a bit, but it doesn't really matter. There are no leaks!

Nice pipes Sand.Man. My pipes are still 36% larger in area.
