One hint for forum etiquette - instead of creating a new thread every time you need to ask the same question, post in your old thread and it automatically goes to the top of the list with all of the other information you've already typed.

How tight did you thread the mixture screws in? They should not be tightened any more than "Lightly seated" or you will damage the needle end of the screw.

I would take them out and inspect them if you think you tightened them too much, be careful - they have a spring and an o-ring inside that will fall out when you remove the screw.

2 1/2 turns out from lightly seems too far,

1. Try2 1/8 turns.
2. Warm up the engine to operating temperature (stop-go riding for 10 mins)
3. Set the idle speed to about 1200 RPM +/- 100rpm
4. Turn the pilot screwsout 1/2 turn counter-clockwise from the initial setting (2 1/8 turns out)
5. If the engine speed increases by 50rpm or more, turn all pilot screws out by successive 1/2 turn increments until engine speed does not increase
6. Adjust the idle speed back to 1200rpm
7. Turn the No. 3 carburetor pilot screw in (clockwise)until the engine speed drops 50 rpm
8. Then turn the No. 3 carburetor pilot screw counter-clockwise 1/2 turn from the position obtained in step 7.
9. Adjust the idle speed back to 1200rpm
10. Perform steps 7, 8 and 9 for the No. 1, 2 and 4 carburetor pilot screws.

Check to see that your fuel lines are not restricted.

Your float level may be mis-adjusted.

Check your fuel tank breather tube, may be plugged.

Yes they are the screws accessible from outside of the float bowls, be very careful not to tighten them past the point that they stop turning - be very gentle when screwing them in.

Instead of 2 1/2 turns try starting with 2 1/8 turns, read my first post again - I updated it with some information to help you set them up properly.

It's better to do that with the carbs on the bike, as the motor has to be running to verify your adjustments.

If you take the carbs off, you should check the adjustment on the float levels, and clean the carbs extensively with compressed air and carb cleaner (be sure to remove all rubber components like gaskets and o-rings)

I think your float levels are off, read this website to learn how to set them.

http://www.factorypro.com/tech_tunin...procedure.html

You must remove your carbs from the bike to set these.

Set your floats to 13.7mm (0.54")
