Another won't start

I just bought a 93 CBR 600 and went to start it today and it started fine. I let it idle for a minute then shut it off. About 5-10 minutes later I went to start it again and this time it wouldn't start. It doesn't even turn over. Any ideas?

Won't even turn over now? Have you checked the fusebox?

Make sure it's not in gear: kickstand down, in gear, it will not engage the starter.

I know this sounds embarassing simple...but did you by chance leave your ingition switch on? I'll admit...I've done it...twice!!!! https://cbrforum.com/micons/m13.gif I've stopped using the ki.ll switch entirely.

sounds like a drained battery to me

it was indeed a drained battery. i took it to advance and they charged it. I put it back in and it started right up. Could there be something thats draining it or am I just letting it sit for too long?

Motorcycle batteries do not last long in general...a few years normally. You'll know soon if it keeps the charge. A trickle charger is a good investment for conditioning the battery in non-riding seasons.

turned out to be the battery.

now i have another problem. after i got the battery recharged, it started so i rode it around. the next day i forgot to turn fuel ON and it stalled. after turning back on i rode home. next day bike stalled three times and now it won't start just turn over. checked petcock, fuel and vac good. pulled plugs, not wet but carbon fouled so I replaced them. will turn over but not start. tried starting with gastank open choke down and little throttle, it stumbled and sounded similar to crap but still wounldn't start.

One thing to look out for is that the first thing to stop working if the battery is getting just a bit low is the ignition, you can have a spark on the plugs when you pull them out but once installed and they are working in high pressure they do not spark. Try using jumper cables to your car and see if it wont start then, I'm pretty sure it will.

On the carbon fouled plugs, what modifications have been don on the carbs ? it sounds li.ke you may also need to tune the carbs.

tried it today, still just stumbles and won't start. I don't see any mods to the carbs. it has k&n filter and yoshi slip on. i took the carbs off and will take them apart.
