Default AfterMarket Carbs?

How much more HP would some one get by bolting on the Keihin 33mm smoothbore flat slide carbs. On a engine thats stock, never been apart. Just wondering. I remember seeing an ad that said "Bolt on 10hp" But would you really get that, or would you also have to have , port/polish, higher compression, cams, maybe a 1 or 2 mm big bore kit etc. Know what I mean. They got those carbs on ebay for $1000. Holy hell thats alot of $. Found a used set for $450. Still aint gonna get them, but I was just wondering. If I was single and didnt have 2 teenage daughters I would get them. Wait a minute, no I wouldn't! I'd get a new R6 for trackdays, yes, thats what I would do. Yes a brand spanking shiny new Yamaha R6. I'm a Honda man but R6 is sooo sweet.

I'd go with the r6!!!! But if you upgrade just the carbs and not the motor your not soon anything much for power mods. Your just increasing the fuel an air supply. You gotta bore the motor bigger pistons and rings, high comp head ect.

Frank, are these the flatside's that Mike's selling on the WERA site? If so, you should hit him up on the WERA forum, and see if he thinks they might be in the ballpark for your application.

Well, user Mike R1 is selling the same carbs on the WERA Classifieds, for the same price, I'm bettin' they are the same ones, so asking him would be a good way to find out about 'em, as far as performance gains and whatnot... maybe.
Here's the sale link:
