Thanks, I know there is stuff on ebay, but I also know you have to be careful what you buy off ebay.

That's great point...i will look into lithium ion battery when mine is due to be replaced...how much those cost Vs. Regular ones?

I haven't bothered yet for my bikes. I could see doing this for my track bike perhaps though...

Ignore Jesse's poser comment, and like other's said, do what you want, in the end, you digging your bike is all that really matters. Oh, and, not for nothin', but, Jesse WAS banned from this site before and came back with a different username, sooooo, perhaps it's because he relies more on playground politics than wits.

95% of the mods I've performed on my bike have been functional, whether for power increase or weight loss, or both - maybe 5% are purely cosmetic. Two things worthy of mention, though:

(1) The mods for performance and weight loss (that can be seen) are usually a cosmetic improvement as well.
(2) Weight loss IS performance, considering when you factor in that every 7 pounds removed gives a benefit equivalent of roughly 1 horsepower increase, simply due to less mass to be moved by the same powersource - same principal as slip-streaming.

My carbon fiber Yosh exhaust, for example - no real power incresase, but 5 pounds lighter (sounds a hell of a lot better than stock, but not too loud), and it looks friggin' sweet - especially compared to stock.
Jesse mentioned the lithium-ion battery - I highly second this simple mod. I got the Shorai LFX14A1-BS12 for $130 to $140 SHIPPED, from batterystuff.com...

(model is different but it looks like this one)

...I weigh all replacement parts vs. stock to monitor my gains/losses, and currently I have removed just under 22 pounds from the bike - that battery was roughly 5 1/2 pounds of that - you could juggle 3 of these things one-handed!

I already bought a yosh exhaust for the bike, just waiting till winter to tear the bike down and go through it all. I plan on buying the items I listed over the winter and putting them on. I will look into that battery once mine fails.

eBay is honestly your best source. Most aftermarket for these bikes all comes out of china now as they're so old. Just READ the feedback from other buyers on whoever is selling what you want and pay with paypal. If the seller screws you paypal will refund your money. Much easier than dealing with the credit card company.
