Could the Rear brake and master cylinder have went bad from the bike sitting.as i stated in a previous post just got the bike and its been sitting since 99..I got it fired up tonight for the first time..Let me tell ya she sounds NICE!!Or could it be maybe they just need to be bled?

You'll need DOT-4 Brake fluid, a 6mm box end wrench, and possibly a friend to help you out.
Step 1: Open the brake reservoir cap
Step 2: Pump the rear brake until it becomes firm and HOLD pressure on the brake pedal (DO NOT release pressure until step 5)
Step 3: Open the bleed valve on the caliper with the 6mm box end wrench WHILE still pushing down on the brake pedal until the pedal goes all the way down.
Step 4: Close the bleed valve all the way
Step 5: Repeat step 2 - 4 while constantly adding new brake fluid to the reservoir being careful not to let the reservoir go empty (or else you will draw in air).
Continue steps 2-4 until the brake fluid comes out clean.
That's it, easy as pie...

2 more things.the bleed valve? where is that located on the caliper? Also you said untill the brake fluid comes out clean?..what color is it supposes to be.My brake fluid is like a DARK yellow?..is that normal maybe thats my problem..

If the bike has been sitting since 99, I wouldnt waste my time trying to bleed the brakes until I rebuilt both the master cylinder and the calilper. Brake fluid attracts water, if the bike has been sitting for that long the chances of some moisture getting into the system and rusting something up is very likely.

Well yea I dont think this is normal and to be Honest it almost looks red!pictures dont do it justice tho.I dont think its supposes to look like this.I'd like to bleed the whole system and try Fresh stuff see if i get my rear brake pedal back instead of it being stiff..But it appears to be brand new brake pads front and rear I was thinking maybe its stiff from the new brake pads Also whats involved in rebuilding the master cylinder and the calilper Maybe it would just be easier to buy new ones if i need them?
