Default '94 CBR F2 to '06 Yamaha R6 Tail Conversion; Build Thread

I'm converting my 1994 Honda CBR 600 F2 Streerfighter's Tail to a 2006 yamaha R6 integrated tail.

I will be cutting the F2's subframe from the frame (all one piece). Making brackets that will be welded the the existing F2 frame, and bolting on the R6 subframe to the welded brackets.

So Far:
  • Both upper and undertail fairing pieces have been painted. painted red/black to match the bike.
  • Bought a used (but in brand new condition) '06 R6 rider and passenger seats off ebay.
  • Still Watching Ebay for the '06 R6 Subframe, Passenger Pegs and Smoked Integrated tail light for a reasonable price.
I will be posting lots of pictures of the progress from start to finish, so keep checking back for updates.

Here are the first set of pictures:

Upper and undertail fairings painted, as well as the rider and passenger seats.

You've been working some magic while I wasn't watching. I was sanding away on my chinesium front fairing...

Doing what I can with the money I have. It's coming along little by little. After the tail conversion things to come:
New chain, manual cam chain tensioner, fork preload adjusters, jet kit, new clutch cable, stainless brake lines, crash cage, Vapor Digital speedometer, alarm system, and I'm going to somehow wire a Radar detector in , And powder coating most the parts that i painted. So I'll be adding things little by little and hopefully the finished product will be good. Oh and I have a streetfighter style headlight and fairing in the mail on it's way now.

does the fairing and headlight assy. look something like this because I happen to find those little jigs exceedingly dope.

I'm going to try to make a factory-looking headlight out of one of those that sits in the stock F2 front fairing. I hate the stocker. It's the only thing that makes the bike undeniably old-skool from a distance.

Bought a subframe and it should be arriving on monday. In the mean time I decided to start cutting away the F2's subframe little by little:
