Default 93 F2 with a bad problem

So I just got this 93 f2. Ot has 13000 miles on it.....

I have put new ngk plugs on the bike......

The bike will run flawless for a day and then out of no where bog down and start sputtering, and die, with no hopes of re-starting......then other times when it bogs down, you can re-start it and its ok......then it will run fine for a day, then the same thing happens with it sputtering again.....it is my understanding that the bike had been sitting for a while when I got it.....is it possible that I need to drain the tank and start over, or does it seem like the carbs may need attention? I have only ran about 1 full tank of premium fuel through it since I got it, and I really need to get this issue solved!!

when you took the tank off to put the new plugs in you probably kinked the fuel line it might not look kinked but if is bent just slightly to much it can be very big pain in the a**

Check the fuel line for kinks, as said above. I would also give the carbs a good cleaning since it sat for a while. If there was gas in it while it sat, it coulda gotten all gummed up.

well it was doing this before I changed the plugs, and that's what prompted me to change them...

I have noticed that if I put some gas into the tank it runs great but when the level gets to half or below, it starts having these symptoms of not running well at all....

Sounds like maybe a problem with the petcock valve? I would drain the tank and take the valve off and clean and inspect it.

might check your fuel filter.. maybe its clogged. try running some fuel treatment in your gas. there are millions of brands out there.

SO................I took the tank off, removed the fuel switch and such......

I drained the bowls on the carburaters and a buch of rusty nastiness came out.....so I think I have found the problem!

Tomorrow I am off all day so I will flush the tank and such......

Does anyone have any past experiences or advice on flushing the tank and so on??

I am having the same exact issue to, must be something going around. I'm also interested if you found a cure.
