92' F2 won't rev over 4k rpm under load

I've had this F2 for about 2 months now. I haven't ridden it since about 2 weeks ago, but it warmed up a little today so I went to take it out. I let it warm up for a couple of minutes, and then rode slow around the neighborhood for another 5 minutes or so. As I started leaving and picking up the speed, the bike refused to go above 4000 rpm. It didn't matter what gear I was in, it just seemed to bog down completely. In neutral it revs up well above that just fine (I didn't check how high, but at least 6000 rpm).
I rode for a very short time around the neighborhood on Sunday (started it up, rode around the block, and parked it), and forgot to turn the fuel off until I went back into the garage on Monday if anyone thinks that might have made a difference. Otherwise I don't think I did anything too stupid...
Any ideas?

i remember last year i had a problem like that, but mine would not rev past 7000 rpm, but in nuetral it reved fine. at the time of the problem i did not have the air box on(was working on other stuff) but when i put the box and filter back in it ran perfect. i think the carbs are jetted to match the air box and filter, and if they arnt there it throws it off. it may not be the same thing for you, but it would be a place to start. just check the filter and stuff. good luck

Doesnt sound out of the oridinary to me. Maybe you got some bad gas or something. It does happen. My bike did it in the spring and it turned out to be a clogged intermediate jet. Ran some STP Fuel Injector cleaner through and some 89 octane (ethonal also cleans it out if it's not too bad) and it ran fine after that tank of gas.

Thanks, I hadn't thought about the filter at all even. I'll pick some fuel injector (and carb I assume) cleaner up today and give that a try. I know the gas isn't older than maybe a month or so at the most, but I guess it could have been bad when I got it.
There's a lot of gas left though, so I guess I'll have to do a lot of riding this weekend![Smile](https://cbrforum.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Do I need to remove all of the side/front plastics to get to the airbox, or just the tank and the 4 smaller pieces?
