Hey all, just got my first bike a couple of weeks ago (91 600 F2 w/ 13k miles), the rims are a little bent from the previous owner and I am going to look into changing them out (they are not so bad as to be unrideable). I was wondering if the F4 rims fit the F2? I like the 3 spoke look better....thanks

 

Nope! I think the F3's rim will though...There is a F2-F3 compatability thread somewhere here that tells what parts are interchangable....

F2 and F3 rims are the same look but the front rim requires different rotors and I believe when I tried doing it there is a tab on the forks of the F2 that gets in the way of the rotors. I used RC Components for the rims on my F3 only draw back is when mounted the rotors covered my new rims.

 

Dont want to go with the F3 rims since they look the same as the F2, I like the 3 spoke on the newer bikes....oh well, guess I'm stuck with the 6 spoke rims

 

No,the front rim will not swap.Everything on the front end must match,even the fenders.

The rear however will pop right in.I always suggest using an F3 rear wheel on an F2.It widens the contact patch on the rear,making it easier to ride in the corners.Good cheap mod

 

Good idea about the rear rim, guess if I am stuck with the 6 spoke I'll go with the F3 rim in the back...


Here's another question...will the 1990 F rims fit? (I really do want to get rid of the 6 spoke look if possible)

Nope.Only the 6 spoke F1 wheel will work.

You can put an F4/F4i/929 front end on your bike,but it has to be the entire front end (Forks,fender,wheel,brakes,rotors,triple clamps, etc) .
