Ok guys now a new problem has surfaced. I rode the bike today. The battery was fine but it seemed to get very close to overheating. There is no water in the oil(cases) as far as I can tell but there is oil in my coolant reservoir. I'm almost positive that is not normal. Any input on what it may be? Maybe my head gasket is on its way out?

Is your radiator full? If not, was it full before?

If you're burning coolant in the cylinders, then the exhaust will be white-ish or grey, rather than invisible.

Is your cooling fan activating? To test this, run the bike while it's just sitting still - after the bike gets to operating temperature, rev it some and hold the throttle at about 3000 to 4000 RPM for a bit, to get the motor running nice and hot, and verify that at some point the fan kicks on - when I tested this on my race bike last week, to make sure all my changes to the wiring harness were good, it took about 8 to 10 minutes for the temp to get to the point where the fan would come on, and the outside temperature was about 65º or so.

Just because I'm curious, what makes you think it is overheating, or near to doing so? Bear in mind, that if it's hot or somewhat warm where you are, and you're riding around in town, or sitting with it running a lot, the temperature guage will go up quite a bit, but that's not abnormal - the bike needs movement to properly cool it, when it's warm-to-hot outside.

The fan does work when it gets to about 80% to the hot point. And it only heats up in stop and go traffic. When I'm riding it stays nice and cool. But there is no oil in the radiator as far as I can tell but there is quite a bit of oil in the reservoir. It isn't burning oil because I see no smoke out of the exhaust. I'm confused 0_o

Oh boy! I missed the part about oil in your coolant overflow bottle!!
That is definitely no bueno! Well, you might have now discovered why you were able to score this bike for $800! That sucks man!

If you've got oil in your coolant it could be your head gasket, but more than likely it is a problem with your oil cooler... in the parts fiche in this link, the main components are numbers 10, 11, and 13.

Ronayers.com Microfiche Honda>Motorcycle>1993>CBR600F2>CRANKCASE SET

There are numerous rubber seals and O-Rings in this assembly - 4 if I remember correctly, but maybe more, that might need replacing.

Do you have the tools at your disposal for performing a leak-down compression test?

How long would it take to get coolant in my oil(inside cases) and I might be able to if my teacher will let me mess around with our auto tools even though I'm not bringing in a car

It's impossible to answer the "how long" question, even if we knew where the exchange is taking place.

Depending on how this shop is setup, you might need some adapters to use the leak-down tester with the bike.

That's the norm when at constant stops. Is that too hot?
