296 rotor on f2 wheel??
OK here is the story, I'm trying to put f2 wheels on my KTM 640. F2 wheels seem like the ticket due to the speedo drive. My KTM has a 300mm front rotor. I'm seeing alot of talk here about 296mm rotors on later CBR's, will these bolt to a f2 wheel? If not, is there a easy way to make it work with a little elbow grease? I havea good friend who also happens to be a machinist helping me out with this project so a little metal maniputation is not a problem. Thanks in advance

RE: 296 rotor on f2 wheel??
F2 rotors have a very small bolt circle (smaller I think then even the F3's) but definitely smaller then most of the current stuff. CBR 900rr stuff will not work. You will need to cross check all the rotor measurments: center bore, number of bolts that secure the rotor, the spacing of those bolts (known at the bolt circle), the offset of the rotor 'hat', in addition to the overall diameter. I think your best bet is to check and see who makes the largest rotor (check brembo) for the wheels you want, and have your buddy fab a hanger to place the caliper in the appropriate position. In addition, I think the HRC race wheels for the RS 250's of that vintage ran the same bolt pattern and center bore. Hope that helps...
