1993 CBR 600 F2 top speed?
Ok, so I'm sure all of us F2 owners have that little speedometer that shows it tops at 175mph. well.... today, actually to be exact 10 minutes ago i got home from work @ 1:50am EST. here in miami i got on i-75 and had the biggest smile on my face lol kicked it into 6th and took off, now my speedometer is broken as i have posted before so i only have a hint of what i'm at from the rpm meter, when it was at 13k rpm it did not want to move into that red zone and i felt like i couldn't go any faster? is it all for sights or does the bike actually go that fast is all i want to know because i was topping 13k rpm for about 2-3 miles it's just i'm not sure what the actual mph was.... anyone here with a F2 ever hit 170?
In my old magazines a F2 top speed was right about 150, now that is flat surface testing. Right? Now if your flying down the interstate thats down hill gravity would probably help you go a little faster. Just like being on the track with a faster/bigger bike in front of you and your in their draft you could get a little more top speed.
Brand new out of the box, the F2 was only capable of 151mph to 153mph, in bone stock form - the only way that number would increase, would be with significant mods for weight loss and top end power increase, or as Frank mentioned, topping out going downhill, or employing a draft.
I've personally seen my speedo register between 155 and 160, but with the margin of error for any speedometer, I wouldn't trust anything other than a reliable trap speed reading, for an accurate claim.

Gearing commander says 163mph @ 13K rpm in 6th gear w/stock gearing (15/43)
But I doubt the bike has enough power to get much above that - even getting to that point in 6th as you report surprises me. I've seen reports that strong bikes haven't gotten to that RPM in 6th.
Changing your gearing in the typical -1 +2 (14/45) knocks that down into the 145ish mph range at 13K in 6th.

On tracks I have run, my F2 doesn't have the steam to even get close to those speeds down the straights so I couldn't comment on top speed lol. I know that my 6R will struggle to hit 160 mph without long stretches of perfectly downhill road and my F2 gives up an easy 20 whp to it.
Well I tried it once, my speedometer said I was going 175mph, but who knows, I mean my cluster worked perfect the reason being that I would pass by a street everyday that would tell you the speed your going, but who knows.
