Default Wheels and parts interchangability

Hello gents. This will be my first post.

I just picked up a 1987 CBR600F1 for $100USD. It's my first Honda. A 21 year old kid had it and wrecked it. It's pretty beat to snot, but it runs decent, has a clean title, and the frame, swinger and forks seem straight.

I've got the build posted up over at custom fighters.

Can anyone tell me about parts interchangeability on these bikes. I especially need to know if the wheels are interchangeable between years 1987-1990.

These are the minimum parts I am needing to get the bike going again:

Front wheel
Rear wheel
Radiator
Both clipons
Front brake master cylinder and lever
Clutch lever assembly
Headers

Thanks very much.

87-90 all parts listed will interchange.
you might be able to find a clutch lever from a later year, but nothing else on your list.

I have most of the parts on your list as spares. Where are you located?

hehe your on customer fighters and yes your wheels are trashed. (I don’t have a custom fighters account but I stalk all the CBR F1’s over there)

How did that bike get “wrecked” they hit a curb?

The kid who had it before me didn't have a front brake lever, was to impatient to wait for it to come. So, he rode the rear brake all the time. Ended up lowsiding and the bike hit a few small pine trees

You can follow the CF build thread @:
Nasty Nate's "Hit by a Hurricane" CBR600 F1 project - Custom Fighters - Custom Streetfighter Motorcycle Forum

Or, follow the thread I am making here as well:

Thanks.

what year VFR? Ive heard people use 91-94 or up to 98 CBR600 rims for that. I wouldnt ever use a hurricane front wheel though. too narrow. the 91+ wheel is 3.5x17" which is FAR more suited.
