Default What are the pros and cons of lowering the front end?

just wondering if there are any benefits. just fyi i was planing on 110/70/17 front tire and a 150/70/17 rear. would like to get as close to stock suspension as possible with the different tire sizes. unless there are any benefits to lowering the front.

are no pros unless you are to short n your feet dont touch the ground.

Cons are it changes the rake of the bike which changes the way the bike steers or turns in. It throws the geometry off. It looks like shyt having the fork tubes sticking up thru the triple.

Bikes arent cars/trucks, so you cant just go changing tire sizes n slamming them like the were w/o ill affects on handling n stability.

The only advantage is a short rider can get on and build their confidence till they are ready to ride the bike set up taller... until then the handling of the bike is sluggish at best. They will ask why you did that to them once the stock settings are reset.
Come to think of it, I'm not sure it was an advantage.
The poor handling may have made the learning curve more difficult.

i read a post on here saying that 87-90 cbr 600's were designed to be quite level supension wise compared to modern sport bikes. i also read that the stock tire sizes are 110/80/17 front and 130/80/17 rear. so will a 110/70/17 front and 150/70/17 rear change the levelness and balance of the stock suspension or will the middle number(70) being the same for front and rear keep the suspension relatively the same? Meaning i rather have the front slightly lower then the back if i can't get it exactly level.

I have those tire sizes and they work great with no noticeable change in handling.

I realy advise against lowering the front i had a lift on the back of mine so same diff its still tilted forward. but you losse alot of stoping power on the front brakes because the weight is moved forward and if its an emergency stop your likely to go over the bars if you stop to hard. Also the front wheel always feels like its about to slip when cornering hard. its good for draging though
