Default Unsteady idle and misfiring when warmed up

I recently replaced the petcock on my 1987 600 hurricane but when I put everything back together I found that my idle speed was erratic When I took the bike out for a ride everything was fine at first but after a few minutes it started to misfire and slowly loose power. I had to keep reving the engine to keep it from dying. I brought it back, adjusted the idle speed screw, let it rest and took it back out but the same thing happened again. It was running perfectly before I changed the petcock! Help

Check your wiring and make sure nothing was knocked loose when you pulled the tank off. Check your voltage and make sure it is not dropping as your rpm's increase.

Make sure you are still getting fuel at the carbs. I've seen people get new petcocks and accidentally leave them closed...
