Tips on lowering?
I'd stay away from lowering the suspension. The bike is designed to sit at that height and changing it can have some serious consequences. That being said, you can try taking your seat to an upholstery shop and have it cut down. they should be able to remove enough foam to lower it enough, then stretch some new vinyl to fit.
A bit. C of G its not the big concern here, its the steering geometries that are affected. These bikes are designed at the envelope in terms of clearances and geometries. Don't forget they were the race bikes of their day. Simply dropping either suspension can cause big problems. If you are determined to lower the suspension, be prepared to spend alot at a good suspension shop.
I'm not sure if there is even a lowering link available for the rear shock for this bike, so if you can get enough extra room by modifying the seat that would be the best bet. You can lower the front end by sliding the fork tubes higher in the triple tree, but for the rear you would either need a lowering link or have the stock bracket shortened and re-welded to lower the rear end correctly. You'll probably have to modify the side stand as well if you lower the suspension so keep that in mind also.
Run a 110/70 and 140/70 tire, lots if good radials in that size. Will lower the bike almost one inch, I've had no issues in 10000kms running this size but one...the bike sits higher on the kickstand so park accordingly! Ps I'm 6'3" 200 lbs did tires for handling not lowering. My 5'2" wife can barely touch down but you are a little taller...
