Default tempature

i just picked up my 89 cbr600 last night from the shop, when i was driving it home the tempature gaugewas at half or a little higher, the fan did come on, but it was really hot,what should it be at or is this the normal temp?

Sounds normal for the guage to be in the middle... If you get into stop and go traffic it will go higher and the fan should run. If you are stillrunning all the stock plastic they do run hot around town.

Mine will sit right under the middle all day long, but if I get 3 or 4 long lights in a row, it will get hot quick. my fan comes on right at the crack between the center section and the H.

i was told that you can take the thermoswitch wire thats on the lower left side of the radiator and touch that to ground if it comes on then the fan works

Has anyone ever replaced the stock thermostat with one a few degrees less( maybe ten ) or does that even exist? Do you think would make it run less hot or just screw up the bike? Mine runs hot too![:@]
