Tail section conversion
Hey guys. I got a 89 F1 and Im trying to convert the rear-end (minus the swing arm) to an F4i rear. Any ideas how I might accomplish this. I figured I need the subframe, fender, seat, and rear cowl. Any ideas of what problems I might encounter on this voyage, or any advise at all is greatly appreciated.
you can do the subframe if you want, but its not totally necessary. swapping subframes will require you cut the original subframe off of the bike, and weld on mounts that you can bolt the f4i subframe. you could just get the rest of the pieces and fabricate your own mounts to bolt the new cowl up to. thats what i did with my rr tail. i used an f4 feder and pegs, and the rr seats, cowl, and mounting pieces. you may have to cut up the fender to get it to mount to the f1 subframe though. it is really up to you how much you want to put into it.
