Default Swingarm

I have an 87 cbr 600 I am wanting to know if a swingarm off a newer bike will fit? I want to extend it with a wider tire. Because the 3.5 in wide rim is just not wide enough for me. Thanks for any info anyone can give me.

short answer is "no". there is no direct swap that can be done from a later model year cbr.

the closest you can come to not doing a whole lot of work is using f2 or f3 swingarm. but suspension comes greatly into play. for more info, there is a how-to on cbrextreme.com.
