Default Suspension issue

Can anyone confirm that a bike that constantly bounces (thing pogo) is having an issue with the rebound?

The suspension is stock and the fork oil has just been changed (10W). There is no air pressure in the front fork and the back is set to 1 on both preload and rebound.

Thanks for any input...

Mike

I cant say for sure, but here's what I'd do if I were you. find a local guy that has a good reputation doing suspension work, and get yours set up for your weight.

I dont personally even HAVE a stock shock in rear, nor stock springs, mine are some fancy springs, not sure what though, and an Ohlins rear shock. overkill for street, but pretty friggin nice.

is it the front or the rear that is bouncing?

if it is the front, could be the springs are shot. if it is the rear, the shock could be adjusted to 2 or 3 to see what happens but if all else fails, it's probably tapped out.

Hi,

I've changed the rebound setting and it does make it better but does not eliminate it completely. Is this shock rebuildable? Is there a shock that will fit off of a late model bike?

Thanks,

Mike

rebuildable? honda manual says no.

late model fitment? no, not directly. later cbrs are either shorter overall or use different mounts (eyelet instead of clevis). there may be one that may fit but you will have to look at pics to be sure of mounting and ask for overall length.

i've seen a couple f1 shocks on ebay. they aren't very expensive.
