I have an '88 Hurricane 600. It has the stock mirrors with the rubber outer coating. Theybare painted red, but as you can see in the pics, the bike is black. Can I paint the mirrors with regular paint, or will that screw up the rubber outer coating?

 

If you paint the rubber coating, it will crack and flake off. Need to get vinyl paint that will be flexible. Im in the same boat.

 

I looked at aftermarket mirrors but the only ones that will work are universal and they dont look as good....

 

Shoot, if I had 2 good mirrors I'd trade that looks cool. Is it stock?

 

not sure. thats how it was when I bought it....
I'm goin for the all black and bright wheels look.

 

got some black levers and foot pegs ordered...
even some black fairing spikes

 

So I painted the rubber part on the mirror with vinyl paint and it still cracked when trying to install on bike.

Thinking about removing them altogether and just paint the metal brace underneath.

 

Thats what I thought would happen... looking at ordering universals off e-bay
