stand to replace fork seals
yup you do, you have to get the front of the bike off so the wheel is off and the forks are not compressed so you can get the wheel off and then take each shock off and begin you process. As for which stand you need you need one that picks up the bike at the steering stem. I dont know any but im sure people know, try looking at the Pit Bull stands.
will a front with Steel Spool support work ? or it has to be with clamp support ?
what about the ones that lift the hold bike , is it safe for the bike if i lift the bikes from the pipes ?

Here is the fitting chart so you can verify the pins for yourself.

I'm sure it is possible, if you look at one of the other Pit-Bull stands, it lifts from the frame sliders and the rear pegs (thats what they say, but it looks like front pegs to me). So I am pretty sure you can do it, just be careful how you do it.

did you look on ebay or craigslist? you can lift from under the pipes but you have to have the bike stable so that it doesn't tip. at the very least get a rear stand to stabilize the rear of the bike. i think there was another post just recently asking the same question. if you rig something up, have someone there to spot the bike for you.
i know a guy who bought a stand used it on the rear and hoisted the front with a ratcheting hoist(connected the top to a beam in his garage) the rear stand kept it stable enough so it wouldnt tip over but it did still wobble alittle. anything can be done with alittle time and effort!
you do not have to have any stand. all you need is something to put through your headers long enough to put both sides on jack stands. the piece also needs to be strong enough to hold the bike. this is safe to cause this is how we did my cane at school.
there are many ways to do this, some safe, some not. however, if one is going to continue to work on their own bike and continue to own them, it is still a good long term investment to own at least the rear stand. you can have it there ready to use at any notice, change the rear tire, adjust the chain, give stability to the bike when the front is being worked on, testing the tranny, and so on. one could do without a front stand, but the rear is worth getting.
