Default speedometer cable

After changing my front tire, i assembled all things again like hthe book said. But now most of the tie my speedometer doesn't work. The top part in the cockpit is firmly attached, so it has to be the lower par, down where it's attached to the wheel. I don't see another way then just simply put the 'screw' in place. But that isn't enough. Do i mis something here?

Default RE: speedometer cable

the gear assembly inside the housing at the end of the cable might be worn out. take it off the axle and check inside to see. take the instrument end of the cable and turn the inner cable to see if the gears in the assembly are meshing and turning properly. there isn't much to this part. it either works or it doesn't. make sure when it is mounted back on the axle that it is held in place to keep the unit as a whole from spinning around the axle.

Thanks, I will try that. The unit is deff not spinning with the wheel. It's so strange that sometimes it works, and before disassemble the front wheel there was no prob.
