spark plug wires
i started working on my brothers 88 cbr600. its been sitting for about a year. i messed with the spark plugs and lost track of where the wires are supposed to go. i got the bike started, and it sounds good in nuetral but when i try to go its lacking power. so what i have are two coils, the left coil (when your sitting on the bike) from what i read when i did a search goes to number 1 and 3, and the right coil goes to 2 and 4? the manual says 1 and 4, 2 and 3. anyone have any perspective on this?
i think you might have your wires off. the left coil controls 1 and 4, while the right is 2 and 3. the 1 and 2 sparkwires are controled by the y/blue(1) and the blue/y(2)primary wires, while the 3 and 4 are blk/wht. i dont know if this is an exact science, but its what i remember from messen with myign system. hope this helps...good luck
well i tried all possible combinations of the 1/4 and 2/3 combinations.
so, as far as the wires at the coils, it goes in a horizontal line across the bike. starting at the left side (while sitting on bike) lets call the wires 1 and 2, 3 and 4. and at the cylinders going left to right 1,2,3, and 4. if i knew where wire 1 and 2 (left coil) went to which cylinder the rest should be easy to figure out.
any help would be greatly appreciated!!
