Default Sourcing parts...

Since I've moved to Kansas from Fl the bike has been stored for Winter. Had a season to work on it for the first time since I've owned it lol. Is there anywhere to source parts outside of ebay worthwhile? In particular I am looking for the plastic cover that goes over the tail light behind the seat, mine blew off on the highway somewhere. I've been watching ebay for awhile and not seen a single one! I've just rebuilt the carbs and replaced cracked carb boots and ordered a choke cable because its been broke since I got the bike. I had trouble locating a cable but found one off a 1000 and its pretty much the same but a bit longer. Its about to get new chain and sprockets along with a battery, I just think it looks horrible without the tail cover!

Tough to find body plastics.

Air Tech has a fiberglass aftermarket one:

HONDA CBR 600 F1 1987-90, CBR600, fairings, bodywork, fairing, upper, lower, mid, seat side, race, street, fender, tail, undertail, tank

$48 seems expensive, but if you could get it OEM they cost $120 so not so bad.

Only other choice is to wait for Ebay.

Great link I hadn't heard of them before. $50 is well worth not looking at my bike missing it! Give it a gloss black spray paint and new vinyl lettering!

What about plug wires? One of mine is split and I would like to replace it when I do the plugs, any idea?

Check Motorcycle Parts, Riding Gear & Accessories | BikeBandit.com

They have a lot of OEM parts for these old bikes. A few are NLA but most are available.

You could also probably use an automotive set if you really had to.

You could always do the stick coil conversion and be rid of that set up altogether.

Ok you have my interest in the stock coil coversion but I cant find a diy thread for it. I found one for the 1000 though. It also appears I can use the f2/f3 coils to do it. My bike has begun a low speed take off misfire (multiple) but is fine after take off. Anymore info on doing this on our 600 in specific?

The 1000f mod should be the same as the mod for the 600f.
