Is it very hard or even possible to put a shorty exhaust on my 1990 600? The one that just barely sticks out from under the bike. I see these on the newer bikes and love it.

And anything is possible with enough money and ingenuity.

i dunno, you could cut the pipe down couldnt you? or get a cheap aftermarket pipe and cut that down, best to find one thats riveted together, youll light the packing on fire if you weld it. lots of cheap ways you could go about it... you could just ditch the muffler and jet it up, heh heh.

I do not know about the differences between the 1990 and the 1995+ F-series bikes, but utter05 just installed the MotoGP-style Shorty Exhaust that is sold on EBay for the F3 models. Here are the two pics he posted, as well as the video he put up:
