Default Shorty exhaust

Is it very hard or even possible to put a shorty exhaust on my 1990 600? The one that just barely sticks out from under the bike. I see these on the newer bikes and love it.

Which bikes you referring to? the 08 1k or R6?

And anything is possible with enough money and ingenuity.

theres not much roon underneath the bikes due to an unused center stand mount, but if you felt like getting rid of part of that with the help of a grinder youd be a step ahead. its possible though

you would have to have an aftermarket exhaust though i think , bc I know my stock one has a big muffler thing that would make it hard to tuck the pipe

i dunno, you could cut the pipe down couldnt you? or get a cheap aftermarket pipe and cut that down, best to find one thats riveted together, youll light the packing on fire if you weld it. lots of cheap ways you could go about it... you could just ditch the muffler and jet it up, heh heh.

I do not know about the differences between the 1990 and the 1995+ F-series bikes, but utter05 just installed the MotoGP-style Shorty Exhaust that is sold on EBay for the F3 models. Here are the two pics he posted, as well as the video he put up:

Good luck with your project. Cheers! [sm=icon_cheers.gif]

it can be done, just depends on what type of exhaust you use. best way to do it is to get a custom exhaust made
