Default Rubber Opinions....

Getting ready to upgrade my tires...lookin at thesein a 110/70 17 and a 150/70 17 for my '87 600......opinions would be appreciated!!

also does anyone have any tail mods using the stock rear?? just looking to clean up the bike...smooth it out so to speak...I am planning on moving the turn signals ot under the tail light and mounting the plate on the lower left side. Also some other little things...but i'll post pics of those when they're done...=)

On a side note......those appear to be radials and if that is the case....even being the same size (the 150 is too large) they will not fit on your Bias Ply rim design well or maybe at all. Radials need a much larger rim to work right. A 140 is about as big as you should probably go with that rear rim and that's in a Bias tire.

Try Dunlops GT501's. They stick nice and more than likely will out grip most peoples riding abilities. I had them on my Hurricane and they were great.

Another nice choice. I run Pirelli's Corsa's on my GSX-R and they are very nice. My dad has the same tires you are looking at on his bike and they stick good enough to drag the alternator at the track on his Z1-R.

I picked up a pair of theDunlop 501's for the cane, and I found that the tires were to "hard" to run the twisties with.

I constantly found the 501's to loose grip going into and out ofcornersand they scared the hell out of me. After about 300 miles I tossed the tires to the corner of the garage and thats where they sit.

I picked up a set of Avons on ebay and these puppies are the cats ***!

They stick like glue in the corners and track straight on the highway.

I road 180 miles just yesterday, Mothers day on some hard twisty roads near Grafton Illinois and I did not have one tire issue all day.

I for sure wouldrecommend making the switch to radials, but don't go crazy on the size.

Stick with the 140/80 rear and 110/80 front and you will be happy.

Link to the Avon tires I purchased on ebay.

I do have a set of Dunlops 501's for sale, cheap!
PM me for details.

I've got a 140 pilot ( not pilot power) in the back of mine and I haven't had any issues with it
