Removing Carbs (difficulty)

Hello All:
Recently purchased an 88 CBR600F and need to clean the carbs. I read the How-to and am having difficulty removing the carbs as aunit. I have loosen the clamps on all of therubber isolator bands, but I guess the rubber has basically become bonded to the carbs over time (as well as the engine port side). I've tried rocking back-and-forth and side-to-sidebut they're not letting go. I've also tried blowing a bit of hot air from a heat gun to try and lessen the adhesion, but man are they stuck on good.
Is there something I'm missing? Is there a trick or method to getting the bands to release easily?
Thanks,
Jaime

pry all the way around the rubber from the carb. that should get it off if the rubber is stuck on. once carb set is removed, put cloth down into intake tract to keep any debris from falling in. if rubber carb connector is tweaked, should probably get a new set. once the clamps come loose, there isn't any thing left to remove aside from push/pull cable and fuel line.

I was thinking about trying to get a rad like hose-tool in there to try and break the seal but was worried about destroying them, as well as the limited access to manipulate it all away around the carbs. I shall perservere now that I know that I'm not overlooking something
.

Well, I've got penetrating oil - didn't think of it for a rubber-to-aluminum non bolt application but I'll give it a try.Try a few more heat cycles with the hot air gunas well.
I'll have to check out walmart for thepb blaster stuff (not sure if it's available here in ontario, canada).
