Default Rear Wheel Spacer?

Hi, got a problem and hope somebody can help me out. I removed my rear wheel to install a new sprocket. I'm now putting the wheel back on and I'm having trouble understanding my clymer manual. There is a spacer on the axle on the right hand side. It has a skinny end and a fat end. Which end faces right? The pictures in my manual are a bit difficult to discern.

I'll include a picture to show which part I'm speaking of. Thanks for any help.

The "fat end" goes toward the bearing, skinny end toward the swingarm.

The microfiche at ronayers.com is good for seeing how stuff goes together.
