rear turn signals
hey everyone i printed out and saved the colored wiring diagram for my 87 600 cane but its kind of hard for me to read and i was wandering is the green wire for the rear turn signals the ground or what wire is what for the rear turns my bike didn't have any rear turns at all just a tail and break light hooked up. I'm mounting some rear turns up and wiring them up so i need to figure out what wire is what for each side after i track them down. any help would be greatly appreciated
The green wire is the combined ground for all the rear lights.
The positive/power wires are:
light blue - right rear turn signal
orange - left rear turn signal
brown - running lights
green/yellow - brake lights

The rear turn signals are only signals, just 2 wires so no running light. Connect the ground side of both lights to green, and the power to either light blue or orange depending on which side it's on.
There should be a harness at the tail section with all these wires together unless the previous owner cut it up.

That should be correct, yes. Technically it doesn't matter which wire goes where for the rear turn signals so long as one wire is grounded and one wire is connected to the power source for which ever side it's on. You won't damage anything hooking it up backwards in this particular case.
