That is so wierd. I was just looking at the factory pro website and reading about false neutrals on the vfrworld forum. I am curious about this myself, for the VFR. I hit a false neutral every once in a while, and was wondering if this would fix it.

On my VFR, after riding for a couple hours and getting comfortable, sometimes between 5th and 6th I will not pull up far enough on the lever and it will ratchet and rev up like it is in neutral, then pop back into 5th gear. Scary stuff, sounds like hell and lurches the bike. Supposedly that kit makes the shifts feel more solid and precise. But you have to get the whole thing, not just the spring and lever. The key is the star wheel.

I've had this happen too, only on my '90 F1. It sounds like some piece fell off inside and is griding the gear and then it pops back down and lurches like you said. It freaks me out so i pull the clutch in but then it goes away and doesn't happen for a long time. dunno what causes it..

Mine did that when i was driving it out of the driveway i bought it in.
If those kits do what they claim, i think the $200+ price is fair. Im no racer, but quick, solid shifts are never a bad thing.

Check your drive chain tension. Mine was too tight, when I loosened it, the problem got better on the Viffer. Might also move the shifter lever down one tooth too.
