Nope your information source is absolutely correct but wrong bike, we are talking about a CBR 600, not a CBR 1000.

 

I think that's pretty conservative. My Lexus more than doubled it's HP at 10PSI. I would think if he can push enough fuel through it and maybe run meth injection or water injection to avoid detonation, 125 is within reach.

I know this isn't a fair comparison, but an 82 CX500 makes a whopping 48 horses. The same year CX500 Turbo makes 85 horsepower and they dropped the compression ratio from 10:1 to a piddly 7.2:1.

BTW, my 87 'cane at 85HP will SPANK my 85 CX500 TURBO which also makes 85HP.

 

that's the 1000 cc version, which of course has significantly more hp. The 600 is 85
