Possible turbo project

so a friend of mine bet me i couldnt make my 87 cane beat his 02 gsxr 600 to 0-130mph sooo im gonna turbo it and run about 8 psi, but anyways i already have a set of 1990 carbs with a dynojet stage 3 kit in them, f2 rear swingarm with 170 rear tire, chain+ sprocket -1/+2, Factory Pro shift star kit, Factory Pro Adjustable Spark Advancer/Retarder, Full D&D exhaust, K&N my main question is does someone make aftermarket rods and pistons for these motors? im going to send the head out and have it ported/polished and maybe have the valves oversized. i dont want to melt anything. let me know what you guys think itll make as far as power goes i know its only like 85 hp stock but it should greatly improve with all the mods. dont tell me its not worth it lol i dont care im very competive like that and i wont buy another bike

Good luck with that my man, near impossible to turbo a carbed bike. But if you find a way, I think theres a career for you in the automotive industry. As for your question about rods and pistons, NO there isnt a company that makes them, but you can custom order them by giving the company all of the specs youre looking for (Engine make, model & year, Bore size, Stroke, Rod length (c to c) and material, Block height, Compression ratio, Gasket thickness & diameter, Wrist pin diameter, Pin offset and direction, Application info, Induction & fuel, Camshaft specs (gross lift, lift @ TDC), Cylinder head brand model & part #, Valve angle, Combustion chamber CC’s, Valve diameters & freedrop (valve edge to cyl. head deck), and quantities of pistons and hardware.

There are many companies that do this (Arias, Ross Racing, JE Pistons, Wiesco, Venolia the list goes on) Your best bet is to take your old rods and pistons to an engine shop and get them to order some with the same specs.

alright ill make some phone calls as far as the bottom end goes monday, it is very easy to turbo a carbed application, ive been a mechanic for many years and have expeiernce in blow through carbs, as long as you up your fuel pressure on a 1:1 rise with boost it will never lean out, you just need a boost referenced fuel pressure regulator with a return and an inline fuel pump that will go up to about 20psi tops. the gixxer is stock other than a pipe and sprocket change. probably gonna throwq it together with the stock motor and get her dialed in at about 5psi just to see before i throw 2 grand at the bottom end what do you guys think she'll make for power all built i know it probably hasnt been done before but what the hell lol

So .... what do you get for beating this guy ?? ... his bike maybe?????? ... haha

I think I read somewhere the 1987 Honda Hurricane was about 120 hp .... so imma guess you might make ..... 140-150?? ...

You definetly misread 954, the 87 Cane is about 85HP stock. I think youll be lucky to hit 100HP.

did the f2 swingarm fit right on or did u have to modify it

you gotta drill out the frame hole to take the bigger pivot bolt and move the shock mount but other than that its an easy swap, 100hp prolly still wont be enough to take him what else can i do to squeeze more power out of it?
