Please Help a New member!!!
Whats up guys!! This is my first post here and I got a few questions. I have been searching for a CBR(98+) for a while and pretty much could find anything within my price range or the bike was not taken care of at all. Well to make a long story short I got a 1987 CBR600F Hurricane for a trade for some work I did. The bike has 2,200 miles on it and was rode only 1 season. The bike runs but needs to be gone through and checked which I am doing right now. I also am going to take it to a buddy of mine that works on honda bikes for a living just to make sure everything is gone through. My question is how much is this bike worth??? I mean its only got 2,200 miles. If I sell this one then I can actully by the one I want before spring hits. Thanks in advance for your help!

PICS?
To be honest, you got a great score. 1987 is the first year of the CBR600, and a great collector bike, if it's in great condition exterior-wise. The low mileage really ISN'T in your favor, except to a museum-ish collector. When a bike sits that long, all the rubber and soft pieces deteriorate; if there was any gas in the tank your carbs and tank are probably a BIG mess; same for brake lines and coolant lines.
BUT, if you're interested and handy, you could replace all of the important mechanical stuff on that bike, soft stuff, tires, fluids, carb parts, brake pads, etc., for about $500-750.
If it runs well and has new tires and clean mechanicals, you can probably get $2k for it. But even to get that you would have to wait a while. If the plastics are in perfect condition and the mileage low, you might try to find some serious Honda collectors, but that's a roll of the dice.
Get it running and ride it. You might be surprised how much fun it is. And, the smile you'll get riding around on your kickass ALMOST FREE bike far outweighs the pleasure you'll get from riding around on a '98 or newer one. Every punk *** jerk store on a bike has a '98 or newer bike. Don't be one of them! And, with a few cheap mods, an '87 will go nearly as fast.

Thanks man!!! Yeah I mean its in great shape but I need to go through the bike. I am actully going to ride it and see if I like it. If I do I am probably going to end up keeping it. Thanks for all the tips. I will post up some pictures tonight when I get home.
