Default picked up a second f1 today

So i got a second 89 cbr 600 today for parts for my current 89. Started taking her apart and ive found a few goodies so far. It has a fox racing shock with an external res and a dampening **** 8 settings it also has a k&n filter. It turns over but doesnt have spark.

would a bad starter relay cause no spark? it wouldnt start with the button so i connected a jumper wire to the side of the terminal that goes to the starter and it turns over and shot a birds nest out the exhaust but i dont have spark. hoping to get it started before i strip it down so i know if the parts are good or not.

do you have the manual and a volt/ohm meter? there is a pretty good troubleshooting guide for no spark.

since its new to you, its probably best to start from scratch and make sure the wires are hooked up right and connections are good. check your kill switch wiring since the start button is in the same group.

good deal on the score

lol on my f2 the night i got it i couldnt get it to start and after trying different things for 20 mins i realized the kill switch was off. On this one i jumped the kill switch to make sure that wasnt the issue and still has no spark. i want to try the relay from my running f1 but its soldered in since the pigtail was destroyed so i would have to cut the wires and resolder it.
