Unhappy New clutch on CBR600 FJ - advice please oh wise folk..

I have just fitted a new basket to my CBR FJ 1988 and have checked both the honda and the haynes manual with no success.... How far do you tighten the 4 springs that are holding the clutch plate?

I looked to no avail as well. Some people have changed their clutches here so I'm sure someone will post with an answer.

Maybe I am not remembering correctly, but aren't there 4 "studs" or bolt ends that are pointing out away from the bike, and then the lock washer and nuts go onto each one of these? I never took anything apart or replaced the clutch discs, but I would think that if there are lock washers that they need to be seated pretty well. Was the bike working before, and you just replaced the parts yourself, or did you buy the bike with a non working clutch? I thought the springs were providing tension from the "back" of the mechanism and those 4 nuts were just holding the cover tight/flush against the posts? I also looked in the manual and see nothing about a torque value for tightening these!

The Clymer manual just says tighten securely...no torque figure given.
