$1600, the guy I'm buyin it from put a good amount of work into it, he did all the welding and design of the subframe and tail mounts. It's been a project of his that he just doesn't have time to finsih and he bought a snowmobile for the winter instead.

I'm thinkin I'll offer him $1400 after I take a ride on it to make sure all the mechanical stuff is good. He said he's been ridin it all summer with no problems and its in great mechancial condition.

We'll see after I take a ride.

Because the upper fairing is still on you aren't going to have any problem with the intake. The only time it becomes a problem is when they are totally out in the open and air gets "rammed" into it. If it runs good, I'd take it for $1500 no doubt.

just so you know, KBB says dealer price would be $1800, and this would be in mint condition. i paid $1600 for mine which i actually think was too much. id try to get him down a little. good luck.

KBB for a '90 is $2175 dealer retail and $1455 for trade in

Your '87 is $1800.

Another question. I know the fairings protect the engine pretty well, so there won't be any scratches or marks on the tranny or engine covers. and since the fairings are mising on mine, what other major mechanical parts should I look at for damage from being dropped. the hand grips don't have any weights them, but they looked good at the ends and the levels are stright, but those could have been easily replaced.

So what other parts should I look at?

Well, I just ordered a LSL handlebar riser kit from Spiegler USA which comes with the adapter, handlebars, and an extended brake line. It should be in on Friday so I'll let you know how the install goes.

For a temporary fix just cover the intake holes about halfway with some tape. It worked for me and then this winter I'm going to build some little covers.
