left front brake caliper
hey guys, i'm wondering something, on the left front brake caliper, the upper bolt had a needle bearing, and a "collar". Why the hell would honda put a bearing and a collar there? i lost the collar, and am wondering, would ya'll think it'd be ok if i popped the needle bearing out, and make shifted a complete spacer that fits, would it be ok? i just don't see a purpose in a "bearing for a caliper,

I don't see what you are talking about in the shop manual nor on the microfiche. I haven't had mine off lately so I can't really help you. It stands to reason that Honda would have put it there for a reason though.
That is part of the anti-dive system. The caliper pivots and closes a valve in the fork to restrict oil flow under braking to slow the compression...hence "anti- dive". The sleeve and needle bearings are the pivot point for the caliper.
+1 on what he said.
I don't think you would want to do what you are suggesting.
