Default how to seperate stock muffler from header?

i bought a complete exhaust off ebay. i had a header that had a vance and hines supersport pipe. its held on by 2 springs. the header i got on ebay doesnt have springs. it has like a muffler clamp thing on it, also the new one has a big square on the bottom. my old header doesnt have that...??? anyways i loosened up the clamp and still cant seperate the muffler!! is it tack welded on the inside or something?

The "new" one is a stock pipe, at least the square is...that is where the rubber bumper for the optional centre stand goes. Loosen the clamp and then tap it a few times with a soft faced hammer. There is a gasket that sticks the two pipes together like glue. Separating them takes some twisting and tapping in my experience.

Mine was a real pain too. The gasket will break up sooner or later.
