Default Hey! New here.. could use some help!

Hey guys! I'm new here and apologize if anything I ask is in the wrong forum / was already asked.

Basically I traded my KX125 dirt bike for a CBR600F1 (88). It needs some TLC definitely .. Runs great (has 52k on it!) but it looks pretty rough. It's missing all fairings but the nose. The nose is there but missing a lot of the mounts so the headlight is basically just sitting in there!! It was actually taped..

So my question is before I dump money into this bike.. I don't mind it not having side fairings, but the nose / tail would be nice..

What conversions are available for the bike? Can I convert the nose to a newer model? The rear too? I've seen some conversions. I'm really just looking for the easiest conversions really.

Also, the rear turn signals decided to stop working after I replaced them. I wired them up exactly from what I'm aware of.. Every time you put the turn signal on it blinks the rear brake light and doesn't blink the turn signals.

Any advice / ideas would be much appreciated Thank you!

Ebay is your friend for stock plastics, but expect to pay a premium.
You can put whatever you want on there, but expect to do custom mounts for everything.
Since you are missing all the fairings going to a streetfighter might be the easiest for you. Do a search on here and there are all sorts of threads on streetfighter, CBR 600RR plastics, etc.

when you ask what conversions there are for the bike well as far as I know nothing will just bolt right up. My motto about that though is if it doesnt bolt up cut and weld until it does.
Depending on your fab skills almost anything is possible for instance I have a gsxr tail and a 600rr swingarm on my 87

Thanks guys.. I'll look into making it a street fighter. Ultimately I jjust want to get it inspected and get on the road without dumping money into it! I saw that site in a previous search for fairings I just am not sure I want to dump $1k on this bike haha.

Stock fairings either Ebay or Airtech as already suggested, I don't know of any other place to get new ones. If you take your time and look out for good deals you can score a set of used fairings for a decent price, but it will probably take some time. If the bike was banged up like it sounds I would also check the front fairing stay/mounting bracket to make sure it's not bent and the mounts won't line up to the new fairing.

The turn signals sound like they are wired incorrectly. I would check the wiring first and make sure the 12v wires are routed to where they should be, it may have been wired up wrong before you got it. The main harness should connect at the tail section in the rear to all the lights if it hasn't been modified. On the bike side of the harness the solid green wire is the common ground, so both turn signals should have one of their wires attached to it. The RR turn signal is powered from the light blue wire. The LR turn signal is powered from the orange wire. The license plate light and rear tail light are powered from the brown wire. And finally, the rear brake light is powered by the green/yellow wire. Wiring diagram is available here if you don't have it: https://cbrforum.com/forum/cbr-600f-...-color-144273/

With the high mileage on the bike (mine is approaching 50k also) I would definitely make sure it's mechanically sound before doing anything with the cosmetics. Download the manual and do all the maintenance/tuneup work on it first along with a good visual inspection for leaks, broken stuff, etc. Check the chain & sprockets for wear, change the fork oil, and check or replace the fuel & air filters. Also the wheel bearings, swingarm bearings, and steering head bearings may need service if they're still original.
