Hey Guys so I have not posted much on here but last year around this time i purchased my first bike a 1987 Honda CBR 600F Hurricane for $550. The body had just over 40,000 miles on it and the 1989 CBR 600 engine had just over 20,000 miles. Well in the year I have had it I have rear ended someone(long stupid story about a stupid old lady in front of me) and a old lady backed into it at church. Besides for some cosmetic damage it is still great!
It now has just over 50,000 miles on the odometer and about 500 miles on the new sprockets and chain. The tires are still practically new and the engine is still running great. Now that I have have gotten familiar with the bike and feel confident in my riding ability I am gonna put some money into it and turn it into the vision I have had since I bought it.
I will be posting pictures as I go but tomorrow it is headed to the shop to have the carbs cleaned and a Factory Pro Stage 3 jet kit put in with a air box modification, and a timing advancer. When it comes back I will start working on my body and I can almost guarantee non of you have seen what I am going to do it

Now that I have written a lot more then I had planned on I will end this drug out post.

tty'all later

And sorry for all of the grammar mistakes. I was never good at this stuff.

Sounds like you have a plan Zach,

I look forward to seeing the progress - so pop some pictures up perhaps in a resto log thread.

Cheers, SB

There is a wealth of knowledge on here - sounds like your off to a good start. Putting a full exhaust in?

And stay away from old ladies.

well some stuff came up and it wont be going to the shop until April 17th. I was out riding it today and it ran GREAT until I stopped at a light. Thats when it decided to die on my and it does not seem to be charging itself anymore. does this most likely mean my stator is bad?

If it's not charging it could be either the stator or voltage regulator. It could also be the wiring or a connector. A friend of mine had a low charging output at idle on his old yamaha it turned out to be a bad connector for the voltage regulator. The manual has how to test both in it.
