Help! Is this a genuine speedometer fault...
Hiya - I am in the process of buying a new bike, Honda CBR 600F1 - and the seller has advised that the bike is British but the speedometer has switched from MPH to KPH an he has contacted HONDA who advise that the bike needs to be brought in to change it back - he says this is due to either the bike being left unused for a long time or a flat battery? Does anyone know if this is true - or would you suspect that this is an imported bike.
Thank you for any help/advice.

Thank you everyone :-) I am not worried about how to fix it, my main concern is that the bike could be an import...do you know if the speedometer switching from MPH to KPH because the bike has been left for a long time or battery has run right down is possible. I am very knew to all of this...the bike is a CBR 600 PGM F1 '2002'
Thanks peeps

Your CBR 600 PGM F1 '2002' is a CBR 600 F4i. Post in that forum and you should get a better response. This is the CBR600F1, model years '87-'90. Good luck. The 1 in F1 is actually an i. Fi for fuel injection. PGM Fi... programmed fuel injection and yes the speedo might be electronic on that model. You should ask the F4i guys.
