Default Fuel lines

What fuel lines should I use? I have regular efi fuel line but my mechanic said I need to use unbraided carb fuel line because of the pressure difference, as far as I can see the pressure difference only matters if your trying to run carb line (2-7 psi) in a efi system (50-100 psi) is this correct and am I good to use efi fuel line?

I think your mechanic is talking through his hat. How on earth would a high pressure line cause problems in a low pressure system. Your analysis seems correct to me.

Brading is just for abrasion resistance - it doesn't make the line "stronger". Use the right ID line for your use case, if you're running EFI you need high pressure line.

I got it all cleared up, the reason he said not to use efi line is because it is very stiff and does not bend, and if you do bend the hose it will kink compared to carb line is more flexible and will not kind. I have pre bent efi line now installed.

That makes far more sense than anything having to do with pressure.

True but I'd assume the mechanic mentioned that "the braided stuff is for EFI" and the OP, not being super mechanical and in the learning process, just repeated what he said.[/color]
