Fluid change? What kind?

RE: Fluid change? What kind?
you can find oil change in one of the earlier posts in this forum.
but to recap, oil fill is on right side crankcase cover, oil drain is under engine left side just ahead of sidestand.
draining oil is cake.
to remove filter, remove left fairing, unscrew filter, and pull out from between exhuast header and engine block. install in reverse order.
use 10-40 for general riding, be sure it is for motorcycle.
3.3 - 3.4 quarts
check dipstick under fill cap by putting cap back on but not screwing it down. tip bike upright on level surface. place back on sidestand, pull out cap and see where oil level is on checkered portion of dipstick. at top of checker is full, bottom of checker low. run engine to let oil cycle into filter and let drain back into pan before checking oil.
be sure to dump used oil in inconspicuous place. just kidding... or am i?
