Default float height for 1987 600f

We just moved and I cannot find my manual. Can anyone out there clue me in to what the stock float height should be. Also, I have two ports between carbs 1-2 and 3-4 at the top that don't have hoses on them. Should those be routed to the ports on the airbox?

tilt the carb to 45 degrees so float tang just contacts float valve. 87-89 8mm, 90 9mm
No, the hoses should be routed to the crankcase breather ports

Thanks. My bike had indvidual air filters on it for years but never ran well in the midrange. I put the factory air box back on it to see if it would help. Where should those two outlets be connected?
Where do the two outlets on the air box go?
Thanks.

the 2 outlets inbetween carbs 1-2 and 3-4 just face to the rear of the bike under the airbox. The 2 holes on the airbox bottom go to the crankcase breather ports. Sorrybout the mixup there. (lots of hoses under there)
