Default Finding Decals - Make Your Own

As many of you know I like to do the best job I can on my restorations.

Trying to find decals for these old bikes is a real challenge. I watch Ebay and grab OEM ones when I see them, but it's been few and far between. There are some suppliers on the web but many of the decals are not accurate reproductions.

I got a bug about a month ago to try and make my own.

I bought a small home cutter and had good results so I started looking for a bigger cutter.

I bought a pro cutter for cheap (it's an older one) and so far things are looking up.

Producing the artwork is the hardest part because most of it isn't out there.

Here is the new decal cutting work station I put together in the shop.

The Hurricane tank decals were pretty difficult to get right, but I think I did okay.

I'm working on the artwork for the Hurricane side stripes now. I have all the decals for the all the early CBR's complete the stripes will finish that out. I have 2 1988's I am restoring, and a 1990. I did the 1989 decals so I had all of them.

I really bought the cutter to mess around and try to do the hard to find decals I needed to do my bikes. I've tried to not get into selling because then it turns into a job and I'm retired trying to have fun. 😊

If you are looking for decals you can't find PM me and maybe I can help.

None of those sites have proper early decals. The Hurricane ones are wrong...not correct for a decent restoration. That's why I decided to do my own. It's kind of fun once you get the artwork done. That takes the most time.

I just checked those sites you listed and they don't have any F1 decals at all. Those are the ones I needed and that's why I decided to do them myself.

No problem. I wasn't trying to be a jerk. If I had a newer bike the Honda Decals site has some good ones.
