Default few questons

Hey all I'm new to riding I May be getting my first bike a 1987 honda CBR 600 Hurricane F? he only wants 700 and all that needs done is the carbs need tuned and cleaned (how much do you think that would cost?) It runs and everythign he was riding it)and I gotta re attatch the mirror other than that it looks fine should I go for it? Thanks

i would get it, especialy if the plastics are there. do a search on carb sycronizing, its not that difficult to clean and tune yourself.
post up some pics if you get the bike.

Default I called

my local honda shop they said it would be about 350 to dissasemble clean and resynch the carbs(cuz it has 4) so a used bike for about 1100 isnt to bad so i think ill go for it

or you could spend a quarter of that and buy the tool to sync the carbs, do it yourself, and learn the mechanics of your bike. either way, i'd go for it.

could you provied a link to the tool? I looked but im not sure what I'm lookin for I found a manuel for the bike for $30 though shows how to do the repairs .thanks

ok well it sat all this winter he didnt start it up at all within the past 4 months but he also didnt winterize it.. is there anythign i should be looking for?

here is the tool i used to sync my carbs, i have the BK model. it works just as well as the vacume gauges with mercury, and easier to use. http://www.cbperformance.com/catalog.asp?ProductID=572

4 months really isn't that long. i would just change the oil, lube the chain, check tire pressures, and clean the carbs if it runs weird.
